Facilities and equipment of laboratories supporting training and researching had been set up since 1999 (Center of Environmental Engineering and New Energy, college of Engineering Technology). After founding college of Environment and Natural Resource in 2008, departments were restructured with 4 labs (Chemistry of Environmental Engineering, Biology of Environmental Engineering, Water Treatment and Solid Waste Treatment). Labs’ equipment was invested in many resources: budget, international cooperative projects (Vlir I-II, Sansed, TRIG,…)… together with much modern equipment of Germany, US, UK, Japan…
Detail capacities of labs can be summarized as follow:

1. Lab of Chemistry for Environmental Engineering

Analyze and evaluate targets of chemical pollution in water, soil, air,…supporting observing, evaluating the quality of environment( soil, water, air). Some representative analysis equipment: Ultra Violet - Visibility Spectrum, vibration tester, distillation system, Nitrogen titration…

2. Lab of Micro-biology for Environmental Engineering

Analyze and evaluate targets of micro-biological pollution to assess the quality of environment. Researching to isolate application microorganisms in treating waste, water waste is to support for protecting environment. Some representative equipment:  biological microscopes with 2 eyeglasses, fluorescent microscopes, microbiological analysis in the field, Colony counting machines, sterile chambers,…

Analysis methods according to the standard of Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Waste Water  – WHO – TCVN.

3. Lab of Water Treatment

Observe, analyze and evaluate the element and quality of water (distilled water, waste water, surface water, ground water,…). Some representative equipment of the lab: multi-criteria water analyzers, ion exchange experiments, sedimentation meters…

4. Lab of Solid Waste Treatment

Support for analyzing and evaluating the element and target of pollution from municipal waste, hazardous waste (industry, health…). Some representative equipment of the lab: gerhard protein distillers, air samplers, polarographs, soil pneumatometers, biogas meters, digestions…
