CENRes at a glance
The College of Environment and Natural Resources (CENRes), established according to Decision No.81/QĐ-ĐHCT in 2008, is one of the educational and research institutions in Can Tho University. The college conducts its programs and activities guided by Vision, Missions and Core Values of the university.
In order to gain good achievements in scientific research and technologytransfer in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta, the CENRes has strengthened itself, especially in the following fields: Bio-diversity conservation, environmental quality assessment, environmental toxicology, waste water and solid waste treatment in urban areas, water resource engineering, environmental impact assessment, strategic environment, environment management, land-use planning and GIS applications.
Intensive researchesare to support the on-going educational programmes. In fact, different undergraduate and master theses and PhD projects have been successfully defensed and many of them have been punlished in different national and international peer-review scientific journals.

1. Vision and of Mission College of Environment and Natural Resources
1.1. Vision
The CENRes always strives to become a center of training and advanced research in the field of environment and natural resources in the region. The education and training quality meets the standards of advanced universities and quality accreditation organizations in Southeast Asia. The CENRes targets to become a strong research and innovation unit on environment and natural resources, playing a key role in environmental protection in the Mekong Delta.
1.2 Mission
College of Environment and Natural Resources (CENRes) has the mission of training, scientific research, and technology transfer in the field of environment and natural resources, creating products for environmental protection, serving sustainable socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta region, Viet Nam and the whole country.
- Educational objectives of College of Environment and Natural Resources
- To train learners to grow comprehensively in terms of ethics, intelligence, health, and aesthetics; enable to grasp advanced sciences and technologies appropriate to their training level, to strengthen their learning autonomy, creativity, and adaptability to the working environment; have spirit of entrepreneur and community service.
- To train qualified human resources, to nurture talents in the field of environment and natural resources; to study sciences and technology in order to gain knowledge and new products supporting environmental protection, proper use of natural resources and international integration.
