The Doctoral Program on Soil and Water Environment (Code: 62 85 02 05) 

The curriculum of the doctoral program on Soil and Water Environment of The College of Environment and Natural Resources- Can Tho University was allowed to enroll in accordance with decision No. 3024 (signed on 27/7/2010) by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The students refer to training regulation of doctoral degree according to the circular no.10/2009/TT-BGDDT (signed on 07/5/2009) and training regulation of doctoral degree of Can Tho University (decision no.2979, signed on 01/8/2013).

The training goal

Training doctors on Soil and Water Environment who possess teaching ability, make plans on management and use of soil, water and environment and solve soil and water pollution.

 The information of the major

Admission candidate

Candidate 1:  Research students who graduated excellently on environmental sciences but haven’t owned master’s degree have to study 34 supplementary credits.

Total number of credits must be accumulate included:

Basic knowledge: 14 credits (6 obligatory credits and 8 elective credits)

Major knowledge: 20 credits (12 obligatory credits and 8 elective credits)

Candidate 2: Research students who owned master’s degree on Environmental Sciences have to study subjects of doctoral degree, perform 3  special subjects in the curriculum of doctoral program (choose in the list below) and write  1 overview article related to research direction ( article 18, regulation of doctoral degree 10/2009/TT-BGD&ĐT, 07/5/2009)

Subjects of doctoral degree: Research students study 4 obligatory subjects (8 credits) and 2 elective subjects (4 credits)

Candidate 3: Research students who owned master’s degree on majors such as Environment Engineering, Environment Management, Ecology, Water Resources Management, Water Resources Engineering, Soil Science, Soil Resources, Soil Management, Bio-Technology and Argonomy have to study supplementary knowledge (total number of credits is 10  included 4 obligatory credits). After studying supplementary knowledge sufficiently, research students in this group will go on studying subjects according to regulation of reseach students who owned master’s degree on Environmental Sciences (candidate 2).

Training time: 3 years (full-time) or 4 years (part time)
