Conducting International quality accreditation by AUN-QA standards

For LAND MANAGEMENT program in the period of 2015-2020

 

Can Tho University is implementing external quality assurance activities following the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework for 08 undergraduate study programmes including LAND MANAGEMENT. Conducting self-assessments and external assessments of the LAND MANAGEMENT program aims to reach the goal of achieving certification of higher education quality at Asian regional standards. This major activity is implemented in order to achieve the core values of Can Tho University of “Consensus - Devotion - Quality – Innovation”.

AUN-QA is the ASEAN quality assurance network in higher education, established with the responsibility to promote quality assurance in higher education institutions, raise the quality of higher education, and collaborate with both domestic and international organizations. AUN currently consists of 30 members, three of which are Vietnam members as Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh National University and Can Tho University.

In 2020, to meet the quality of higher education according to the vision and mission of Can Tho University, Department of Land Resources has been allowed to register for International Quality Accreditation of Land Management undergraduate study program. The assessment will be conducted in the year 2021. To have good preparation for the first program assessed with AUN-QA standards, the college of Environment and Natural Resources has established a specialized self-assessment team to be responsible for related issues of assessment process. This team works under the leadership of  CTU Rector, directly guidance from the Dean of College of Environment and Natural Resources, and supporting, training and consulting from the Center for Quality Management of Can Tho University.

The joining of AUN-QA assessment delivers different values as follow: 

  • The first beneficiary of this AUN-QA assessment is undergraduate
  • Undergraduate students will benefit with a continuous improvement in education program in all aspects such as the curriculum framework, academic subjects, teaching methods, and support activities for students.
  • Other stakeholders such as lecturers and employers also get benefits. Especifically, employers have an opportunity to use higher quality human resources.
  • Lecturers are teaching excellent students, doing research in an international environment, and having opportunities to exchange with international partners in order to enhance the professional qualification, foreign language skills (English) to meet the program requirements.

 

Land Resources Department, College of Environment and Natural Resources would like to inform all colleagues, employers, head of agencies, alumni, graduate and undergraduate students and PhD candidates in field of Land Management about the information mentioned above in the hope of getting  supports, share and contribution  from all of you so that the AUN-QA process could be completed effectively.
